'Connecting green spaces in Antwerp’
The Regional Landscapes want to interlink biodiversity hotspots, for example through green corridors or green belts: 1) ensure context-appropriate processes and concepts to successfully manage a project connecting green spaces 2) Also embed recreational infrastructures in the project 3) Face the challenge of fragmented green spaces and the residents ambition for better accessibility
We have discussed the topic on a fruitful matchmaking session in Ghent on the 1st of June together with the Policy Learning Platform of Interreg Europe and Peers from Spain, Germany, Southern Ireland and UK.
The project has applied for a small landscape funding in the Province of Antwerp. Currently we see opportunity with Urban Initiative second call on the topic of Greening Cities and/or Sustainable Tourism to enlarge the ambition in a search for cities, municipalities and metropolises willing to work on the topic of green and recreational non-stop corridors.
