I’m writing on behalf of the cities of Gryfino and Stargard from North-West Poland, which intend to jointly submit an application in Second Call for Proposals EUI - Innovative Actions.
Gryfino and Stargard–cities associated in Szczecin Metropolitan Area suffer from energy poverty, public buildings need urgent improve energy efficiency. Both cities have got huge problems with effects of climate change like droughts and local flooding during heavy rains. Citizens don’t understand the causes and effects of climate change, they are poorly involved in building a civil society and joint activities for the sustainable development of the city.
City authorities want to create green, productive and resistant to climate change cities by improving the energy efficiency of "primary need" public buildings with the principles of the New European Bauhaus,EU "Renovation Wave" and by using of innovative ecological and digital solutions.
Our Project predicts involving residents in the process of building the Green Cities by implementing an innovative program for developing urban green areas into blue infrastructure and launching a special program for school youth.
